A product of Adventist education, Willie learned of Christ at an early age and continues to growspiritually. He has a unique gift of pairing military and Christian service with structure and discipline over his 26-year Navy career.

Donesha developed a deeper understanding of Christ through Willie’s guidance and has been spiritually blossoming since. She is a Certified Lactation Counselor at the Virginia Department of Health. She has nurtured growth in relationships in public health and social work realms for over 20 years.

Willie earned a Master of Divinity (Professional Chaplaincy) in 2023, obtained endorsement by Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries, and is currently pursuing an encore career in Navy Chaplaincy.

Willie is a PREPARE/ENRICH and SYMBIS certified facilitator. Donesha holds a Doctor of Public Health (Health Advocacy and Leadership) and a Bachelor of Social Work. She was a three-time Ombudsman during Willie’s military assignments, providing support and bridging the information gap between Sailors and their families. As an adjunct professor and laughter coach, she weds education and fun during her presentations. Together they have two adult children and two home-schooled pre-teens.

The Scott’s were members of the San Diego SDA school board Diversity & Inclusion Committee and currently serve as Relationship Ministries leaders at the Prentis Park SDA church in Portsmouth, VA.

The Scott’s are far from perfect, however, by keeping God first, being intentional, and prioritizing one another, they believe any relationship can be lovingly productive. Their favorite scripture is Ruth 1:16; “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.”
